PFLAG Peer-to-Peer Support Meetings

Support Meetings

About Our Meetings

We aim to create a safe space for everyone who attends a PFLAG meeting.  Come and listen, share if you want, ask questions. Membership is optional but encouraged if you attend regularly.  Be as involved as is comfortable for you!

We’re here to provide support and encouragement, and learn from each other.  We are a fluid group, open to new ideas and growth.

As parents, friends, and/or LGBTQ people, we share our journeys and learn from each other. Some of our stories may be helpful to you in sorting out your own possibly conflicting and painful feelings, and our speakers may give you helpful information and new i insights.

At the start of our meetings we will introduce ourselves talk briefly about PFLAG and our purpose. Then, we may divide into smaller groups, (parents, LGBTQIA+ adults, and youth. Meetings run from  5:30-7:00 p.m.

First Time?

Yes, we know the process of attending anything for the first time can be scary! Do you have to talk? Do you have to announce that you are gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender – or that someone in your life is gay or transgender? Do you have to become a member, sign up for a committee, or march in the next Gay Pride Parade? Will we ask you for money? We want to answer these sorts of questions for you before you come in the door, and relieve as much potential anxiety as we can.Participation in the conversation is voluntary.  We want to get to know you and how you are comfortable being a part of the group.  We are here to listen!

There is no pressure to become a PFLAG member or activist unless it’s something that you really are ready for and want to do.  Members of our Board are available to meet and talk individually, outside of the group, if you have any questions about how we operate or ways to get involved.  Just ask!

We are here to provide support for those in need, help with education and resources, and celebrate milestones and successes! We are also here to help when the time comes that you want to take action and have a more active role in making our world a better place for everyone. At the start of our meetings we will introduce ourselves talk briefly about PFLAG and our purpose. Then, we may divide into smaller groups, (parents, LGBTQIA+ adults, and youth. Meetings run from 5:30-7:00 p.m.

Before the meeting we invite you to browse our informational table. It is filled with excellent up-to-date resources and free pamphlets and booklets from PFLAG National.
